On November 27th, 2023 Firefighter John Knox of LAFD and Firefighters 4 Freedom @firefighters4freedom was terminated yesterday because he refused to take the Covid vaccine.
We at PERK will continue to stand with and support John as well as all of our first responders. We believe they and all people have the right to medical and bodily autonomy.

Treasurer Marlo Oaks gave an in depth education on what ESG, Environmental, Social, and Governance is and its impact on politics, businesses and consumers. Treasurer Oaks was appointed as Utah’s 26th State Treasurer in 2021 and was on the ballot last November to finish out his predecessor’s term. Treasurer Oaks spent most of his career in money management and is one of two state treasurers with institutional investment management experience. He has appeared on national programs including Fox and Friends and Tucker Carlson and written articles for The Wall Street Journal, Dailywire, and Fox News. Treasurer Oaks graduated with a degree in economics from BYU and an MBA from UCLA Anderson.

On Wednesday, November 15th, John Knox LAFD Firefighter and member of Firefighters4Freedom faces his second day of hearings for not receiving their mandated COVID vaccine. John has served 23 years with the Los Angeles Fire Department. He has been put off duty without pay for 714 days!
The board continually states this is not a hearing about the constitutionality of the bill but about whether or not he has fulfilled this condition of employment. We need to stand up to the Fire Department’s Board and show them that this cannot continue. This condition of employment is illegal, and to force compliance makes them culpable. The only way to resolve the issue is to drop the mandate and allow California’s best firefighters to continue to do their job and protect the people of LA City. It is not their duty to enforce the conditions of employment when they go against a firefighter’s Bill of Rights. Instead, they must stand up for the rights of the firefighters to whom they are responsible.
